Yup RYL now makes this very simple indeed.

Simply find the page which displays the video, odd pages that show 'newest videos' and things like that might not work, but just a standard video page like this :

http:/ /ww w.you tub e.com/watch?v=Z p__g0bah fQ&f eatur e=dir (http://www.youtub e.com/watch?v=Z p__g0bahfQ&f eature=dir)

I had to break that up or else it would simply be detected by RYL and turned into this :

YouTube - Goo Goo Dolls - Before It's Too Late

Hope that helps :)

Okay, the second one was a re-titled link - so how are we supposed to link someone to a YouTube video?

Kaya, why would you need to?

Posting a link and having it auto embedded also puts a link to the video page in with it,

Any page that doesn't contain a single video - i.e a page whos sole purpose is to show you that one video will link in the normal way, so you can link to pages of videos etc fine - it only embeds videos where it is more useful for someone to have the video right there in the post rather than having to click and leave RYL to see it.

And as mentioned, they can just click the link which is also included if they do wish to visit the page

Hope that helps

Say I'm replying to a thread in Serious, and I want to link to a video. Maybe one about recovery, or the free hugs one... if I wanted to link to a video in the middle of a post, especially a support one... I don't know, I just think that it would be a lot better to be able to just link to a video than have it all big and video-ish within the reply.

Or, maybe, if you're linking someone to a video page to discuss the comments rather than the video itself.

I know I'm really being silly, but I was just wondering if there was a way to link to the page without having to break it up and without having the video appear.

How did you get to that?

Yeah, that's making no sense to me. How would you link to a different video, then?

Kaya

Because you got your first link through RYL.

Kaya

Yeah, that would work because it can't embed a video from a profile.

I don't think there's a way to do it, except breaking it up and telling someone to take out the spaces. I wouldn't do that, though.

:\ Ehh, I'm not sure. I think I'll just steer clear of it.
