This site is mainly intended for Christians who self harm, so there are a lot of references to the bible in one section. However, the rest of the site has some useful articles, such as; how to cook without using knives, and it gives some good distractions and coping techniques. |
Heart- Self Injury Awareness
Lots of detailed information and helpful links and factsheets. However some sections of the sight might be a little triggering (couldn’t see any pictures etc but there is some stories and poetry). |
Young Minds
Again, this site is aimed at younger people so the information is more basic and easier to understand. However it still contains a lot of useful stuff. |

Aimed at younger SIers and their carers. Information is explains things well but is more simple and basic than on some of the other sites.

An excellent resource aimed at school staff but could easily be adapted to suit anyone. Contains information about SI and could be great for raising awareness. |
Secret Shame
This is a good site containing lots of information about SI. It contains lots of handy resources and also has information about PTSD etc.

Not Alone
Another good SI Awareness site. This site is linked to Lifesigns as the content is very similar. Covers all aspects of SI in reasonably simple terms. |

Contains lots of publications about SI, including booklets, factsheets and posters. A great resource for SIAD materials etc. |
Rethink
Again, this site doesn’t contain much information specifically about SI, but is a good mental health resource. |
Mindout- For Mental Health
This site is quite basic for those looking for smaller amounts of information. Doesn’t contain anything specific on SI but mentions other mental health issues. |
Sane- Mental Health Charity
Site contains some information about SI, but this is quite limited. However, it does contain lots of information about other forms of mental illness. |
MDF- The BiPolar Organisation
This is a helpful site for people looking for information about BiPolar, but doesn’t contain any information about SI. |
Depression Alliance
This site is not really related to SI, but contains lots of helpful information about depression and the different therapies available, as well as having lots of factsheets and other publications. |
Mind
This site contains some good factsheets about SI in their ‘Information’ section. It also contains information on most aspects of mental health. |
Samaritans
Webpage about SI from Samaritans. The information on the site is very basic, although it does contain links to other sites and factsheets. Also contains information on places to get help.
