some midwives can be complete bitches, but it's in the same way as when general nurses and docs in A&E get really shitty with you because they just don't get mental health!

the midwife that was there when I was in labour with Jasmine wouldn't let the psych nurse that was with me leave to get a drink because she was worried that I would go crazy and attack her!
the rest of the midwives were just amazing though! there is always the odd one that's a bitch! :p

try to see the extra help as a positive thing, although i totally understand why you wouldn't right now
xx

I'm fine! Totally fine. I don't know why it's coming out all loud and squeaky, 'cause really, I'm fine!

Who else is fine?!?!?

Im not kidding, give yourself at least half a day. the place is bloody huge. theres an entire floor for 'bits' you know, nappies, baths, toiletries, clothes, change mats etc etc etc, then theres another floor JUST for prams, then theres a top floor for all nursery furniture etc. Each floor is about 4 times the size of a normal mothercare.

We got our pram there (obaby zesu) and my stepdad flirted so successfully with the sales woman that we got it for 180 or something. :P

How are you and Oliver getting on? :)
Wonderfully thanks. Although his sleeping is getting worse instead of better. He'll do up until about 4am only waking up a few times, and then hes awake every 45 minutes to eat but he is never ready to get up until 9.45... cluster feeding i think they call it.

I dont mind really cos he sleeps in the same bed as us so it doesnt really disturb me (except the being kicked in the stomach when he half wakes up).

Yesterday i gave him a taste of mashed broccoli. Funniest face ever.

................

I hope the midwife you have this time is a bit more sympathetic. I think that as you start to feel more confident in the pregnancy its self you'll feel more confident ensuring you get treated the way you want to.

Sunshine thats great.. and will surely cut down on grocery expenses? Hows his teething coming along? You must both be tired!

Yeah Becky I have been referred to the specialist midwife for mental health things and my social worker says she is really nice so hopefully she won't eb quite so judgemental!

I think we have the same midwife this time because the one who works at out doctors is still off ill but she was off at our booking appointment so we had someone else who said normally we would see the other one.

It sounds really good Charlie. Thats the pram I like, a woman on the bus the other day had it and I was eyeing it up because we travel by public transport all the time and I was worried it might be a bit wide for the bus but it looked fine.

we do london transport all the time with it and it is fine. The only thing to consider is that it folds in two parts which is inconvenient if you need to fold it on a bus or anything. other than that its amazing and should last for a long time.

bit worried about Jasmine today.

she slept a lot, and when she was sleeping she would randomly wake up doing sqeaky/crying kind of sounds. she was really sleepy today.

im worried that it was because i drank quite a bit last night, and maybe it was still coming through in the milk? i thought it was ok, because i read somewhere that once you stop feeling the effects of drink and stuff, then it's ok to feed. and i woke up feeling fine this morning.

do you think she could have been affected? she wasnt herself. and im just worrying that it was my fault.
the foster carer said she did it in the car in the morning (before i got there) so maybe not? but maybe it wasnt the same noise?
such a **** mum

i read somewhere that the levels of being safe to drive and safe to breastfeed are about the same. maybe if youre worried you could buy a personal breathalyser?

Oliver has also started occasionally waking up crying, and letting out a bit of a scream, but when hes opened his eyes and been chatted to a bit hes normally ok. I dunno what causes it but hes always fine and happy when hes woken up properly. Maybe babies have dreams?

edit: i just googled the crying thing, theres bunches of threads about he exact same issue on various forums so i dont think its anything youve done.

thank you Charlie, i suppose im just being a bit paranoid.
weekends are always bad, i worry that if anything serious happens, like if Jasmine goes to hospital, then i wont know until monday.

the courts said i should be notified and invited to any health appointments for Jasmine, but she had her injections the other week, i wanted to go, i didnt want Jasmine to have her injections without me there to comfort her, but the social worker didn't answer her calls or return the calls when i left messages.

Jasmine always laughs and chats when the foster carer picks her up, and does this cute little noise. she never does it with me.

IM SO SICK OF THIS AND I CANT ****ING DO IT ANYMORE.
****ING COURT ON TUESDAY AND I KNOW NOTHING WILL ****ING CHANGE

you can do it, and you will do it because you love your daughter.

everything is completely **** right now, but you'll have her back before you know it and this will all become a distant memory to you.. and something she wont remember at all.

they keep saying even more weeks.
it was 6 weeks. then 6-12. now 26 weeks. that takes us to March 2013.
they are even going against their legal advice. even social services barrister says not to do this. i dont understand.

ok, sorry, i've ranted about this enough, in enough places. i will shut up now.
sorry.

thanks Charlie x

Hey about the noises, babies are very restless sleepers because they practise new skills in their sleep, they are learning and growing. I believe they have dreams too, this world is right and colorful and noisy they have to deal wwith the extra stimulation in some way. Both mine did the squeaky thing and I never drank before feeding them.

Jasmine has found her hands.
She held one of her toys and tried to eat it the other day.
She loves the toys that light up and make noises. The tambourine one I got her is her favourite.
The foster parents have 2 other foster kids at the moment, aged 5 and 8, apparently they really enjoy playing with Jasmine.

I am unsure of the point of this ramble....

anyway. more pictures.

She is so adorable, Beckie! She also looks very content, which shows she has a strong attachment to you (otherwise she wouldn't feel so secure) You're doing such a great job x x

I know no one really knows what to say but I still feel really stressed and scared about having Lucas on my own, my parents have him tonight and I don't want him back! I wish I could just love him!
