Triggering (ED) - How do I explain away the blister?

I'm getting a blister on my middle knuckle... and one is just starting on the one next to it... and I got asked what happened... How the hell do I explain! I can't just say... 'oh yeah it's from sticking my fingers down my throat' I can't stop doing it either... I didn't do it at first tonight after tea... I was like... "i can do this.. I can be strong" and then I felt so sick. Like massive pain and stuff so I purged and felt better... cept when my boyfriend asked if i was okay... my eyes go all red and a bit puffy... so I said I smacked my elbow on the metal toilet roll holder... what the heck sort of excuse is that! Gah... I guess I just really want to know how to explain away the blister... >.<

you could say you were frying something and some of the oil spat out of the pan onto your hand, something like that?or instead of frying something, hot soup....anything hot thats liquid will be a good explanation.xx

The truth won't be easy.. but it really is your best option. If you tell your boyfriend what really happened, then he can help you and support you.

We all know that the truth isn't easy to tell however, so take time. Maybe write out what you would like to tell him on some paper? You wouldn't have to show it to him, but it could help you centre your thoughts.

Not sure if this is helpful, but be safe okay?

xx

I'm always burning myself with oil and stuff so that's a good excuse! I've mentioned it to him in passing a couple times... as if i was talking about someone else... he just... I told him I used to do it but I don't anymore... he gets a little... high strung when he thinks about it... I can't tell him... it would break his heart. He does his best to help and sometimes I make it less then easy for him poor lad. But yeah... the oil idea was good... thank you all. One day, i'll tell him... maybe when i become fierce and brave! Thank you

Jess

*submits feirceness and braveness to you* if you trust him honey then i would advice telling him,, you never know, it could really help you.

i also get a blister inbetween my fingers but i have never been asked about it because i wear a couple of rings that seem to cover it up. have you tried anything to maybe heal the blisters? i am not sure of what you could use right now but if i think of something i shall let you know!

hope you're okay my lovely.

I've never got a blister before... so it should be easy enough to explain this time. Thanks for all the replies guys, i'll really think about telling him. I just don't want to hurt him! And i'm afraid..

I say tell him the truth and he may be able to help you stop purging just like you stopped cutting yourself. I mean how much longer can you continue to purge without doing real unrepairable damage?

i agree with the truth thing, chances are he would suspect something at some point if this continues, but as people above me have said, it really does do damage, and youve stopped cutting and thats a heck of an achievemnet, its the same breaking the cycle and the habit.
stay strong hun, keep fighting xxx
