I'm getting a LG GW520 for my birthday :)

My Sony is crap, I've broken the screen, camera, it won't tell me when someone is ringing only tells me I've missed their calls. But I can still text lol. I've only had the phone for one and a half years.

They aren't built to last that long these days. Hence upgrades for contracts being yearly.

Yeah but not everyone is on contracts.

And I'm poor so mine have to last.

Sadly the makers of the phones don't account for the poor, cruel world. =/
They generally aren't expected to last longer than a year. Maybe the contract example wasn't appropriate. It's like laptops, they're upgraded so much that you're lucky to have one keep going for years and years. These things are disposable now.

I've had my phone for years, and the one before that for years. I don't need a phone that can sing and dance, I just need one that allows me to call and text really. Also, it needs to have a decent battery life and a colour screen. So I can get by with some decent cheap phones.

I have the Nokia 6300 which is this:

and it seems pretty hard to break. I've dropped it on tiled floors numerous times and accidentally threw it into a small bonfire once and it still works perfectly.

well i did get contract phone and after a great time bloody looking i got a LG gw520 its RATE nice :) i love it, its awesome!! i hope it doesnt break i havent dropped it once yet!! im doing well its my second day tomorow lol,
i hope it doesnt break if it does then im going with the brick!
