3 seems like a hefty amount? I'm glad you're sober on them, at least.

BPD and DBT
Hey! I'm Jennifer. I'm really new to this site. I was diagnosed with BPD 8 years ago and went through a DBT program 7 years ago. I wanted to share a bit of info for anyone struggling.
In DBT you learn all of these replacement behaviors to do instead of self injure, based on your emotions. For example, if you're angry, you can color in dark colors, scream in a pillow, go running, etc.
I have a little box that I have deemed my "healthy tool box." I have about 25 alternatives to self injury written on little slips of paper in there. When I'm feeling super emotional, I try to go to my "healthy tool box" and pull out an alternative. If it doesn't work or isn't feasible at that moment, then I pull out another one.
This doesn't always work, and it's hard to find something that works "as good as" cutting. But it helps to have them already written out for me so that I don't have to put much thought into finding an alternative.
Just wanted to share!
Caterpillar: Who... are... you?
Alice: Why, I hardly know, sir. I've changed so much since this morning, you see...
Caterpillar: No, I do not C, explain yourself.
Alice: I'm afraid I can't explain myself, you see, because I'm not myself, you know.
Caterpillar: I do not know.
Alice: I can't put it any more clearly, sir, because it isn't clear to me.
New to recovery: 16 years of self-injury and 10 years of alcoholism.
