If you went to great lengths to hide your wounds/scars, how come people still saw them?
1. There are lots of things I don't understand, though. As much as I've tried to understand the concept of 'cultural appropriation', I don't fully comprehend it, but I still try to treat people from other cultures with respect. I don't fully understand alcoholism or eating disorders, but I don't humiliate people who suffer from those things. Not understanding isn't a licence to abuse others. If learning about an issue is too difficult, then people should just ignore it. We don't have to understand others to treat them kindly.
2. Why is attention-seeking seen as warranting punishment? Surely if someone has to resort to cutting themselves to get attention, they must be really neglected and
in need of attention?
3. I initially did self-harmed on my arms and then moved to legs/torso when people noticed. Also, I took overdoses, which count as self-harm.
