My friend switched to decaf tea when she was pregnant and didn't switch back again. Why were you recommended not to have decaf? What about fruit teas instead?

I think it's because decaf still has a tiny bit of caffeine. Maybe to start off with I can switch to decaf and then find other drinks. I do love herbal tea and hot squash

That sounds like a good way to try it out. I don't think suddenly reducing your caffeine intake quickly would be a good idea anyway.

It sounds like you have some good alternatives. It's definitely worth a try.

My sister told my mum and the mental health line that she plans to kill herself this afternoon. Mum says not to worry, we'll call the police if she does anything. This is not a sudden thing, she has had major depression for a long time. We are lucky she has survived past attempts. She doesn't do empty threats, it's not attention seeking. How can I help her? I just pray and pray.

That must be making you so anxious and depressed, I'm sorry things are hard for your sister right now. How would you have liked someone to help you when you were feeling suicidal? Maybe your sister would benefit from similar things, you could try asking her what she needs although I know she might say nothing that she just wants to die. This isn't all your responsibility though so please let other people focus on supporting her too. Keep praying if you think it's useful for you both.

That sounds really scary and upsetting. I’m glad your mum has been able to reassure you a bit.

She's gone out for coffee with Mum and promised me she wouldn't do anything while they were out.

I think I would want to feel loved, and that the pain wouldn't last forever.

I hope you can allow yourself to relax and let your Mum support her.

Love is something you can give her, and maybe holding on to hope for her if she can't hold on to it for herself.

Her CC isn't going to see my sister for 5 weeks. I know part of that time will be holiday but surely not all of it!

Has other support been put in place? How are you feeling?

Just to contact the duty worker in office hours, and the mental health line out of hours.

I am tired, hoping my CPN will sort me out with more PRN

I rang him, turns out he didn't receive my text this morning but he said he would get back to me tomorrow.

This evening I'm doing yoga with my sister. She's very good at it, I'm dreadful.

Well done for phoning your CPN, I'm glad he's going to contact you tomorrow.

I hope you find the yoga helpful, it's good that you're giving it a go even if you don't feel you're good at it. I think it takes a lot of practice and it's not really even about being good at it.

This morning I feel suicidal.
I don't know why.
I can't tell my CPN because he is away next week.
I can't tell my family because they need to focus on my sister.

I'm sorry you're feeling so bad. It's ok to tell your CPN even if he is away next week, he might be able to sort out some other support for you. It's also ok to tell your family, you matter just as much as your sister.

Ignore me! My sister says this is normal, it's just my brain processing stuff in the night.
