I wanna binge

I feel like bingeing and Idk why. Maybe it's because right now I feel low and wanna turn to food for comfort. I dont purge but I restrict afterwards.

I am not under ed services but under an cmht. My cpn is off on holiday and Idk anyone else at the cmht. I cant speak to a stranger.

Idk what I want from this thread other than to let it out.

Usually I try and watch tv but my tv keeps on breaking up. I think it's the weather affecting the dish.

I am just messing around online. I am trying to read too but my concentration is ****.

My parents are away in a few weeks time so that's probably playing on my mind too.

I have my friend. I have another friend but her husband has dementia so she's not always free to talk to me. I also text Lorraine (Sketchy) on a semi regular basis she's good too.

I am meeting my mum's friend for coffee when my parents are away too. I tend not to binge if I am eating out or with people as I tend to binge in the privacy of my own flat.

I still haven't binged. The urge to binge is less than when I originally posted.

Hi Dawn,

I can't see other replies besides yours for some reason, so apologies if this is stuff you already know or has been said.

Restricting often leads to bingeing, so while it's fantastic you haven't binged, are you both eating and drinking enough? Are you taking care of yourself in other ways such as getting enough sleep? All of those can impact both binge and stress urges.

What things help you normally when you are feeling low? If wanting to binge is because of feeling low, do those things help (assuming you've tried them)?

Are there things that typically help you with binge urges specifically? If you typically binge alone in your flat, are there things you can do at home to manage urges? Snuggle with your cats under a blanket until the urge passes or something? Are there specific foods you typically binge on, or is it just whatever's around? If you buy typical binge foods in larger size quantities, you can break them up into individual servings for example. You can also do like you do with self harm tools and keep those foods in hard to get to spaces, so that in itself is a physical barrier.

Sorry for all the questions. I hope the urge continues to lessen in intensity.

Please do not give me virtual hugs unless you are only using the hug function on threads. Thanks.

You can't always keep it separate.
This is happening, this is part of you.

Thanks Camden. I am not sure what happened with the previous replies seems that their posts and/or account has been deleted. Pity because they were helpful.

Yes I am drinking enough and sleeping enough. I feel low but Idk why. Maybe it's because of anxiety because my parents are away soon. I have particular binge foods but have been known to just eat anything I can get my hands on. I dont know what's worked in the past because it's been a long time since I last binged. Usually I give in. I would get out my happy box but it's got food in it though.

I still haven't binged but the urge is lessening as each day passes though.

When you feel able to safely get out your happy box, what if you took out the food items and put them somewhere else, and replaced them with either photographs or notecards of the foods? That way it's a reminder that you have those foods as options, but you don't have to worry about them being a binge trigger and can still use your happy box?
