opinions on abilify, please?
i've been on risperidone for a while. but a recent blood test showed it's gave me really high levels of prolactin. so now they've put me on abilify. i've been really worried about starting it for over a week but i finally started it today. i'm just really worried about the side-effects, especially the seizures. the thought of having a seizure scares the hell out of me. i know it's uncommon, but it could still happen, my mind says.
does anyone have any experience with abilify? what did/do you think of it?

I personally hated it. It made me feel really unwell and really weak.
However all meds are different to each person so I hope it works out for you x

I'm not sure why I was on it, or what purpose you'll be taking it for so I can't really comment on its effectiveness. The only side effect I experienced was akathisia which was like a restlessness inside my self which wouldn't go away unless I moved my legs or arms. It did go away with time though. I hope you find the medication helpful.

I put it down on paper and then the ghost does not ache so much.

I've been on abilify for about a year and a half now almost. I started at 5mg which didn't really do anything and then it was upped to 10mg, but at that dose I got akathisia (feeling really restless to a pretty intolerable point), I tried to wait out the side effect but it didn't go away. So after 4 months of that we lowered it down to 7.5mg which works really well for controlling my mood swings and doesn't give me any side effects that I'm aware of. But if I miss a dose I start to feel really restless like I used to on the higher dose and it makes me wonder what kind of withdrawal I'll have to go through to ever come off it. But I guess for right now I dont' have to worry about that.
Good luck with it, I hope you find that it helps you

Hey,
I was on Abilify for about a year. I only experienced dry mouth when i was put on a higher dosage. other than that; it worked really well.
Good luck x

I've been on abilify for about six months now. For me, it hasn't been too bad with the exception of the first couple weeks - I was just really nauseous all the time. And when they increased the dosage I felt a bit jittery for the first few days. But other than that, it's been okay.
The benefits have far outweighed the negative. :)
