Besides, under 16s aren't allowed on FB so why would a peado [cant spell] look there?
Erm.... under 13s

I'm quite liking it as well. xD

Didn't change mine, didn't see that it would make any difference. If I had changed it though, wouldn't have changed it back because of this.

My FB picture is a photo of a penguin I took at Edinburgh zoo. So much better than my face.

It eluded us then, but that's no matter - tomorrow we

Lulz. "OMG PAEDOPHILES!". Don't get me wrong, I appreciate that paedophiles are definitely a risk... But it is one of those buzz-words that is used often in media, because it gets a huge amount of attention - much in the same way that 'socialist' does in the US. You mention a story without it and it's just "a man did this", it doesn't sell stories. "A potential paedophile did this" is far more likely to spread, and far quicker.

I can understand disagreeing with it, but hating it is a bit strong, isn't it? I think that promoting an organisation like that is always good. OK, a lot of people just changed their picture thinking that it'd do some good - but I know a lot of my friends donated money to the NSPCC, Crisis, and other charities alongside it. People always know that charities like this are around, but a drive like this (whether or not it stemmed from the NSPCC) can do wonders for a charity's awareness and income. As an example, the Poppy Appeal is around all year round but most people donate around November 11th. As far as I'm aware, war continues to happen (whether or not I like it, haha) all year round - but people donate around Armistice Day. It's a push. Pushes work for NFP organisations.

Although I do dislike people who think they're doing good by doing something like that, and then actually don't do anything to change.

hm maye hate was a strong word. im a grumpy person by nature though XD haha. i just strongly disagreed with it.
i suppose its just my own experience of it. i only know of one person who donated to anything because of it and yet everyone seemed to think they were bob geldof.

I am very opinionated. I don't care if you're my mate, and i don't care how many problems you have. I will be blunt.

That's just within your group of friends though; I'm not saying that your friends are cheap, don't get me wrong :P but I've seen the power (in fundraising and other) that these sort of campaigns can and do have on charities.

:)

Ahaha awesome!! So many people wrote on their profiles having a go, and every now and then there would be someone like me saying "You . Are. AWESOME."

I've had mine as Sully from Monsters Inc. for months now. I'm too lazy to find a decent photo of me.
I do donate to NSPCC though.

I agree with Dreaming - I think the whole campaign hopefully encouraged people to donate to charities alongside changing their profile picture, and it at least was a very clear reminder about the problems of child abuse in today's society. I think the whole paedophile thing was all rather stupid - loads of people don't have a photo of themselves as a display picture anyway, so what difference does having a cartoon charactor make?

I totally had mine as Johnny Bravo. Because..how fuccking awesome is he?

Also, about this paedophiles thing..if they want to add children, they'll have their own profile pictures as cartoon characters. They don't need everyone else to change theirs as well. It started off as a bit of fun, then someone made up the crap about NSPCC, so if someone makes that up, someone else is going to make something up about paedophiles. To see how far it goes.

Just like I told people at my school a girl I hated was pregnant. Just to see how far it went. ;)

I'm gonna tap him like a maple tree. I'm gonna search him for some syrups. I'm gonna be having sex with him.
