ooooh so many which i LOVE have been mentioned!!
shawshank redemption and anchorman def make my top 5 list! so instead i'll make another one to prevent repetition!!

I Am Sam
Absolutely beautiful... a mentally retarded man's journey in raising his daughter - who has a higher mental age than him...

Eurotrip
god i love this film! seen it so many times! Scotty and a bunch of friends travel from america all the way around europe to go to berlin to find his 'hot' german pen pal... experiencing the weird things of europe on the way - hooligans, absinthe, robots... etc...!

Cruel Intentions
based on the french novel 'liasons dangereuse' (or however it's spelt!) the story is about sebastian, a player, trying to bed the most innocent girl in town - and the headmaster's daugther...
he makes a bet with his sister - if he beds the girl, the sister gets his vintage jaguer car... if he loses, he has to sleep with the sister...
it sounds odd - but its GOOD.

Girl, Interrupted
a girl is sent into rehab after taking an OD and is diagnosed with BPD...
the film is about her experiences in rehab and the friends she makes and the lessons she learns etc..

Wanted
i think it's still in the cinema...
about a secret society of assassins....
VERY GOOD!

As a little kid you believed in fairytales,
that fantasy of what your life would be: white dress; prince charming who would carry you away to a castle on a hill.
You closed your eyes and had complete and utter faith.
Eventually you grow up. One day you open your eyes and the fairy tale disappears.
But the thing is, it's hard to let go of that fairytale entirely because almost everyone has that smallest bit of hope, of faith,
that one day they will open their eyes and it will come true.

C.I. ^ is one of my guilty pleasures.

Anyhow not my all time and not top five because I've already gone on and on about them (BR, Bullitt, Downfall etc...) so a couple of new ones:

Batman Begins.
Batman goes realistic. Gone are the unrealistic portrayals and certainly banished 'Batman Forever' literally forever and enter the realistic conception and creation of Batman with a creditable front and responsibility. Also wins on having an less known enemy and not jumping for Penguin, Joker or Two-Face.

Casino Royale.
Pretty much same as above. Bond gets realistic but keeps the winning formula, less gadgetry (Which really cursed Brosnan) but still kick ass bond. The opening scene in Madagascar kicks more rear than the 4 previous bond's altogether and sets the mood for a triumphant return.

Planet Terror.
A thriller/zombie film that easily beats Tarantino's limp Death Proof. Put simply a virus is released that turns humans into zombies so an odd group of survivors fight there way to the source and stop this outbreak. Funny and over-the-top this film is brilliant for a friday night.

Phone booth.
Thriller with an simple plot executed better than most attempts. Guy picks up phone and is held random by a sadist sniper. Short but definitely tense and not an inch of filler.

Schindlers list.
Had to put this in. Simply perfect. Black and white drama/biography of Oskar Schindler, a german businessman who helped saved the lives of over 1000 jews during WW2. No need to babble on, this film IMO should be shown in schools.

This is a difficult list to make. I'm just gonna use imdb's summary of the plt as mine would no doubt get a bit too lengthy.

Sleepers - After a prank goes disastrously wrong, a group of boys are sent to a detention center where they are brutalized; over 10 years later, they get their chance for revenge.

Boys Don't Cry - A true story about finding the courage to be yourself. The story of the life of Brandon Teena, a transgendered teen who preferred life in a male identity until it was discovered he was born biologically female.

Edward Scissorhands - An uncommonly gentle young man, who happens to have scissors for hands, falls in love with a beautiful teenage girl.

Good Will Hunting - Will Hunting, a janitor at MIT, has a gift for mathematics which is discovered, and a psychologist tries to help him with his gift and the rest of his life.

Leon - Professional assassin Leon reluctantly takes care of 12-year-old Mathilda, a neighbor whose parents are killed, and teaches her his trade.

The unusual suspects
"A boat has been destroyed, criminals are dead, and the key to this mystery lies with the only survivor and his twisted, convoluted story beginning with five career crooks in a seemingly random police lineup"

Goodbye Lenin
"In 1990, to protect his fragile mother from a fatal shock after a long coma; a young man must keep her from learning that her beloved nation of East Germany as she knew it has disappeared."

Reservoir dogs
"Seven Total Strangers Team Up For The Perfect Crime. They Don't Know Each Other's Name. But They've Got Each Other's Color"

Lethal weapon 1-4
technically cheating as its 4 movies but what the heck, about two cops with mel gibson and danny glover, i dont really need to explain it, everyone has heard of these films!

Lake Placid
this is probably my most watched film i just love it, its my type of comedy" Horror-Comedy about a man-eating crocodile loose in the lake."

We are not our failures...

Garden State
Zach Braff is a struggling actor in New York (I think) and gets news that his mother has died. He returns to his hometown to be greeted by a whirlwind of drugs, parties and drink. Whilst waiting for his doctors appointment he meets Natalie Portman and strikes up a friendship. With her help, he finds out just who he is and to take chances.

V for Vendetta
Based on a graphic Novel. In a Nazi-esque Britain, one man dares to stand up against the oppressive regime. Known as only "V", he plots to blow up Parliment, just like Guy Fawkes. Evey Hammond (Played by Natalie Portman) is unlikely paired with V and discovers past truths and truths about herself whilst helping in his plans. A story of love and hope when all else is lost

Sweeney Todd
A musical version of the story of a Demon Barber on Fleet Street. Todd (played by Johnny Depp) returns from exile of 15 years to find his wife dead and his child trapped by the man responsible for his exile. His struggle to reclaim his daughter results in the killings of several men along the way which helps the pie business of old friend Mrs.Lovett (Helena Bonham Carter). Very Musical and very dark.

Alice In Wonderland
Based on the book by Lewis Carrol, this Disney adaptation is colourful and fun whilst also conveying a message of peserverance and standing up for who you are (In my opinion). An english girl follows a white rabbit down a rabbit hole and finds herself in a magical world of catapillers, singing flowers and Mad Hatters and Queens.

Atonement
A periodical piece set in the cusp of the Second World War. A 13 year old Briony Tallis sees an image that will change the course of three lives forever. The first, her sister Cecilia. She will have the love of her life ripped cruelly away from her because of the lies of Briony. Robbie Turner, gardener for the Tallis', is arrested for the rape of Lola quincy, of which he is innocent. He is sent away to war, only to see his love Cecilia a few times after. Finally, Briony never fully forgives herself for the selfish act of accusing Robbie for the rape and writes several books to ease her guilt, though it stays until she dies.

"From seeing the worst to loving the strongest; People grow over time."
