Thank you.

Because they claim I already had the bruises before the restraint! They said they did everything by trust policy etc etc

Oh, that's unfair. Are there any witnesses that can confirm what really happened?

Yes another patient plus there's cctv but them seem reluctant to give it.

My psychologist tried to talk to me earlier while I was queuing for meds and asked if we could meet and I said I didn't want to and she said she thinks it would be good if we did and she said she would come check on me later today or Wednesday. It's so hard when I don't trust her anymore

The police came and said they saw the cctv and the restraint wasn't classed as assault but advised us to go to CQC.

I've written a letter to the psychologist to say I don't trust her anymore and that it's not working for me anymore. I gave it to staff to give to her. I'm anxious now.

Why is that you don't trust your psychologist?
What kind of reaction do you expect after your psychologist receives your letter? What are you trying to achieve?

I hope that at least the staff will be more careful with you now, even if they deny causing the bruises before.

Will you talk to the psychologist if she asks to talk through the points in your letter? It would be good to get things out in the open I think.

Because she broke my trust by saying things to the Drs behind my back and in my ward review. I was trying to get rid of her but it didn't really work.

Thank you.

I talked to her a bit about it when she came to my room. She's on annual leave for 2 weeks now so I'm a bit upset and I feel more alone than ever.

Wait, so you’re upset that the person you don’t trust or want to see won’t be around?

We talked it through. I do trust her but I didn't before.

If that kind of change can come about with her, do you think it’s possible the same could happen with some of the other staff members?

after all.... talking to the other treatment team members IS her job.... especially when she has concerns about you. Think it shows how much she really cares

No I don't think it can happen with the other staff. I've known the psychologist years and built up so much trust with her. It's different with the staff.

You built up trust over years and then felt you’d lost it in a second. So why couldnt it be similar with the staff? Ie them changing your opinion? The fact you lost faith in your psychologist over an incident after all those years kind of suggest your feelings re people might change quite easily. After all, you were adamant you wouldn’t trust her again.

Of course you are, and a lot of what you're going through does sound really upsetting.

Is there anything you can think of which would make it easier for you to tolerate hospital and maybe start to build up better relationships with the staff? I only ask because you sound like you're feeling really lonely and isolated with your feelings and they're the ones who are best placed to help you.

I understand that you're finding it hard at the moment, really I do. I'm just trying to think what could make the next couple of weeks less painful.

Thanks so much for your reply and for understanding.

I've just got really bad trust issues which is why I really need to speak to my psychologist or favourite nurse who are both away. There's another member of staff that I really like who I could maybe talk to but I'm scared. I do feel like I have no one.

What makes you scared to talk to the other staff member? I know it can be hard to trust people and it depends on how they have treated you in the past. Are your support workers still visiting?

Just struggle to trust people I don't know and I'm scared if I'm honest it could be a longer admission.

Yes they are sometimes visiting. They are next visiting tomorrow.

It might be a longer admission at first but if they had the chance to really help you i am sure it would be cut a lot shorter.... just a thought.
