Glasses

So fellow people who can't see without help do you think hand gel would clean them or make the covered in milkshake and sweat from work situation worse?

Discuss!

I think it would make it worse!
I usually just run them under the tap if they're really dirty!

I'm fine! Totally fine. I don't know why it's coming out all loud and squeaky, 'cause really, I'm fine!

Who else is fine?!?!?

Tried that and just achieved more smearing of the dirt.

Like how do they get so dirty just sitting on your face?!

You remind me of my coworker when she got her glasses.

Her: “I feel like they are never not dirty!“
Me: “Get used to it“

Haha! You can get screen wipes for laptops and phones and stuff, maybe that'd work on glasses? I used to hate coming on a cold day and the lenses steaming up.

That is so true lana.

I may have to try those wipes.

My goggles have a special light filter on them and I swear it just enhances their ability to attract grease and dirt. Either that or my eyes are going smeary.

You can buy special glasses cleaner. That's what I use, although I have been accused of drinking at work before because it smells like alcohol!

That will definitely make it dirty.

I wash it with soap or washing up liquid, whichever is available. water alone doesnt do the job.

Hand gel would just go all smeary :(

I think proper glasses cleaning wipes will be good. I just wipe mine on my t-shirt but they are ALWAYS smeared and dirty and it drives me insane.

Pure isopropanol normally does a good job. Hand cleaner has other stuff in it

Glad things went well. I'd get that surgery if I wore glasses (even though glasses seem to be in style as a sign of "intelligence" lol)

I would suggest not using things like hand sanitizer or window cleaner because things that have strong chemical bases like those can break down and corrode the coating on the lenses causing deterioration in the lenses and prescription strength. Use either a cleaning spray specifically for glasses or a gentle hand soap if they are very dirty. Only dry them with a soft, lint free cloth as paper of any kind can also damage the coating.
