Sigh. I went to bed early (well early for me!) and yet I woke up at 2.45 pm. I dont know how I am going to get up for the hearing voices group tomorrow unless I go to bed at 6 pm!

That's a shame Dawn, I hope you do manage to make it but if you don't then try not to be too hard on yourself. Your body must be needing more rest right now. Can you set recurring alarms on your phone so that if one doesn't wake you up the next one might?

I dont tend to sleep with my mobile in the same room though.

Some progress: I managed to have some soup. Cooked it from scratch rather than opening a tin. Only ate half of what I made so I just have to reheat the soup when I fancy it. At least it's a proper meal rather than junk. Feel quite good after eating it and it was tasty too.

Would you maybe try it if it might help? If you're worried about being disturbed by messages there might be a do not disturb mode you can put on, I know my phone has one.

Well done with making the soup, that's a really great step. I'm glad you feel better after eating it and you enjoyed it. I hope you enjoy the rest of the soup another day and you can make something else when you feel up to it.

I went to bed at 6.30 pm in the end. Dunno what time I went to sleep but some kiddie decided to play Jack knock therefore waking me up at around 8 pm. Was extremely pissed off at being woken. Eventually got to sleep but kept on waking up every 2 hours until about 2 am. Then woke up at 11 am after about 3 alarms. I think that I will be able to go to the hearing voices group.

That sounds like a rough night. Did you make it to the group?

Yes I made it to the group and someone else said that they were feeling low too. I think it must be something to do with the time of year. I was so tired throughout the group that I was yawning but fortunately I didn't fall asleep. I am more awake now but I think that I will go to bed early. Not as early as last night because I have my parents coming to visit. I feel better emotionally for being awake early.

I'm glad you made it to the group and you feel better for being awake early. Hopefully you can get back into a good sleep routine. I think this time of the year does affect a lot of people negatively. Keep going.

Thanks Lindsay. I could cope with stuff if I wasn't sleeping excessively. Once I get into my normal sleep routine then things will be better. However saying that I feel better emotionally in general than when I originally posted.

Thanks. My cpn said that she would do some blood tests next time she sees me just to rule out anything physical but she said that it could be emotional. She asked if I was on any meds for my physical health of which I said no. She asked me if i had taken any diazepam lately of which I said that I hadn't taken any so far this year. She said that I might need to see the psychiatrist but would lmk.

Funnily enough I had the opposite problem last night I couldn't sleep. I eventually got to sleep though. I feel tired but am not as bad as yesterday.

That sounds like a good plan. Was it helpful to speak to your CPN? I think with low mood and sleeping too much there can come a time where you start to sleep less but hopefully things will even themselves out.

Yes it was helpful to speak to my cpn. I really dont want to see a psych though. I said that I felt that I was faking schizophrenia. She said that I wouldn't be on a depot if I was faking schizophrenia and because I am stable all the meds in the world wouldn't make the difference if I was faking schizophrenia. She said that I am lucky to be stable because most people dont get stability. I said I feel worse on even a slightly lower dose.

Hooray! I woke up at around 11.15 am which is about normal waking time for me unless I set an alarm clock. Went to sleep at about 2 am though. Hopefully this means that I am getting into.a normal sleep cycle and not an one off.

I got woken up by the postman with a parcel for me this morning at about 10.15 am. Instead of going back to bed I got up. When I was sleeping excessively I would be so tired that I would go back to bed and fall asleep for hours. So I dunno if I am getting back to normal or what. I fell asleep for 20 mins before but now I don't feel knackered. Unfortunately I cant tell if my sleep pattern is back to normal tomorrow because I am expecting another package. The best judge of whether my sleep pattern is going to be on Monday as I am not going to be setting an alarm clock nor am I expecting a package then (unless my package on Saturday doesn't turn up).

Also I saw an Facebook post and it said that sleeping excessively is a sign of psychosis. I am worried in case I am getting ill again. But the voices are no worse than usual so I think it's more mood related.

Sleeping excessively can be a sign of lots of different things and you've already identified that your mood has been lower. Try not to worry too much. I hope you have a good weekend and your sleeping pattern keeps improving.

Thanks Lindsay.

My mood is near normal and my sleeping pattern is near normal. Most of the time I am waking up my normal time. Today I got up about 9.30 am as I had an union meeting which meant setting my alarm clock. I managed to get up early whereas when I was sleeping excessively there was no way I could have gotten up. Hopefully that means that I am ok now.
