Toe !?

I mean....... who even come up with that word ! Why would you call the little things that hang off the end of our feet TOES? Don't you just think it's such a lame word!. And besides we have 5 toes on each foot, so why choose a three letter word?

Oh and also,,,, you know when children are naughty and people say "you little toe rag" i mean WTF LOL,, what has toes got to do with naughty people? Why a little toe rag? i mean, i'm presuming when they say "rag" they're on about socks? so why do they refer to them as naughty little toe socks?

HAHA ! English language doesn't make sense atall !

toe will originate from some latin or old english word, it will probably be a shoterned form.

as for toe rag, toe rags were what convicts/tramps/really poor people wore instead of socks.

they woudl wrap strips of cloth around there feet.

so toe rag is a derrogatory comment to mean you are a tramp/iilgitment etc ...

What is wrong with the word toe?

It's a mighty fine word, and just because we have 5 doesn't mean it shouldn't be a 3 letter word :P We have four fingers, and one thumb, but the number of letters doesn't correspond respectively, is that bad also? :P

5 toes goes back to evolution

it allows grip and dexterity

it also aids in running etc ...

its a functional reason
