Quitting is really, really hard... I think it's nearly impossible to just up and stop. Slip ups happen to everyone, but just the fact that you want to quit is a good thing. Maybe try talking to someone when you feel like you want to cut, or distracting yourself? I always keep myself busy with music and online games when I'm feeling down, and there's a big list of distractions somewhere on the site, I don't know where.
Sorry I can't be more help! Best of luck, PM me if you ever want to talk, I'm always glad to listen.

Quitting and recovering takes time. It's certainly possible though.

I think that the main trick to recovering from SI is finding a suitable and alternative coping mechanism to SI. So instead of self harming, find yourself some pen and paper, a good friend, a supporter on Live Assistance or e-mail, find RYL forums, a helpline, stressball, tv, music... Whatever works for you - stick with it! It's just trying out different things when urges or bad times come along. If you can beat those urges, you're flying.

Take it easy, take it one day at a time. You can do this, so have faith in yourself and make sure you give yourself lots of wee treats for getting through the days.

Treating yourself can be anything!! I used to let myself have a bath WITH bubbles and candles...i never really have time for it, so if i did well, i'd let myself!!
Quitting is hard, but over time the urges get less frequent. You can do this :) Its the best thing you will ever do! Honestly. Keep at it. You are worth this. And when noone will sit and listen, RYL is here. If you ever need a chat, PM me. I stopped 6 months ago and I have experienced all the urges and stuff...so gimme a message if you like.
Stay safe, and good luck xxx

I know how that is... My parents made me go to a therapist and it didn't seem to help. From what I understand therapy takes time to work (I haven't been in it very long myself,) but if you give it a while and it's still not doing anything for you then maybe find out if you can see another therapist or something?
Recovery is hard, but don't give up - it really is worth it. Try to hang in there... There are a lot of good articles with tips for coping and quitting on this site, I don't know quite where the links are.
Hope you're okay - we're all here for you!
