Personal Piece - Safe - Drawings
I woke up in a random creative mood today so I've decided to start a new sketch book :D This is my first picture...
I'm not too good at drawing fur at the moment :| But it kept me amused for a while :)

Have you ever looked fear in the face and said "I just don't care"?

Fur is hard! You did well. I love the eyes, ear, and that cute little nose! You draw like you have a kitty. :)

Silence can be golden but gold can sometimes suffocate
Like that girl in that James Bond film, too late to respirate
Tragedy can be plain to see with lights and sirens
But sometimes it ain't quite so clear, Domestic Silence

Do not be dismayed by the brokenness of the world. All things can be mended. Not with time, as they say, but with intention. So go. Love intentionally, extravagantly, unconditionally. The broken world awaits in darkness for the light that is you.

Keep drawing and I hope you try more painting, because you clearly have a talent and passion for it.

a lot of potential i recommend getting yourself a soft 3cm paint brush and gently brushing it over the fur it will give it a light smudge but you will find it will bring the fur out and give it my dimension and depth, try it on something else first for a while until you get the hang of it.

you're really talented, these are awesome!
some constructive crit. on the last one: you've done the shading & shadows awesomely on the hand, you could really bring it to life by doing the same with the rose. think of where the light would be falling & add some darker tones. for instance, the base of the rose head on the stem could be a slightly darker pink right down at the bottom?
i really like them, you've got a cool kinda graphic-y style going on. art's such a great form of distraction & expression. keep going :D x

Thank you all :) I do find drawing to be a good distraction more than anything. And thank you for the advice, I might try that when I get some new colouring pencils. The ones I was using are only cheapy kid's ones so were a bit rubbish for shading properly.

What about oil pastels? You can get some intense contrasting colours with them. I think "the works" sell them quite cheep. Looking forward to seeing more.

I do have some oil pastels here, I just completely fail at using them! I tend to be boring and stick to the safety of my pencils :D I may have a go with them again though when I'm feeling brave.

I decided to draw my gorgeous little niece today.
I have a new found fascination with sequins and ribbons and other little bits and bobs :)
