Take a camera everywhere. Learn to use a fully manual SLR. Umm....look at as many images as you can, and just decide what makes them good/bad. In books, galleries...onRYL, wherever. Oh, and just enjoy it. If you have fun doing it and you like the results, then it'll show.

Sophie, I really like them. The first one especially, it looks like it's leading somewhere really interesting.
The second, the squirrel sort of gets hidden by the leaves - it works well as a photo, only it's a lot of information in one photo.
The third is a very "you" photo, it's really your style. A very interesting angle.
