depot site itching

I had a depot on Tuesday and my whole backside is itching. Not only where my site is but the whole of my backside. Should I just take a antihistamine or is there something else I should do?

I'm not aware of that being a common side effect. Which depot are you on, and do you have a nut allergy? Some depots of older APs contain nut oils, although they are unlikely to cause an allergy.

Also, is there anything else you could be allergic to- have you bought new underwear or changed washing powder?

I am on clopixol which has vegetable oil not nut oil. I am not allergic to nuts.

I haven't bought any new clothes or changed my washing powder - in fact I don't change it due to the fact I am allergic to washing powder.

The itching has stopped but I am wondering if my cpn used the alcohol wipes on the needle because I am allergic to them.

Sounds like the alcohol wipe could be the culprit here then! Make sure to mention it to her before the next time so she can ensure she has an alternative method of cleaning the needle.
