If only you'd ever speak to me
the way you once did
look at me the way you once did
pull to me the way you once did
but you don't
you don't feel anymore
you don't care anymore
it's all gone
it's all gone

Jane, those are incredible. Absolutely amazing. What were your themes/motivations for making them?
I hope you're not thinking of leaving any more :P

The one with the hand is based on Gullivers travels- inside the canopic jar is a man.
the bottle is based on Alice in wonderland
the wave oneis a self managed project which i decided to base on the ocean.the final piece contained 6 waves but i couldnt be arsed showing any more photos :p

of course i dont mind you asking.
I made a mould using alginate- its a fast setting mould material that is like rubber. This had to be done quickly as it can beocme to set within 2 minutes of the water being added to the alginate powder. My hand was covered in vaseline and dunked into a 2 litle coke bottle with the top cut off.
once i took my hand out of the mould i filledit with molten wax and left it to set.I took the mould off which left the wax one which you see in my first post.
It was then positioned fingers up and sticks were placed on each of the fingers and a plastic tube was placed over the top and sealed at the base with clay. a plaster was made with quartz, vermicula and glass fibre and poured into the mould. This had to be done very carefully to stop any bubbles.
once it has set it was put over a steamer to steam all the wax out which left a hole which was the hand.
glass was then put into the top of the hand ( a place to put the glass was made out of clay, sorry i am **** at describing).the glass equaled the volume of water that filledthe mould. It was then fired slowly in a kiln.
sorry if it makes no sense
