scone or scone?

Scone, (S'cone) to rhyme with cone.
or Scone, (Scon) to rhyme with gone.

Must be a slow news day or something, just heard the factoid on tv. Two thirds of British people pronounce it Scone as in cone. Including me.

How do you pronounce it?

There are times to stay put, and what you want will come to you.
But there are times to go out into the world and find such a thing for yourself.
I aint no abacus but you can count on me.

I'm fine! Totally fine. I don't know why it's coming out all loud and squeaky, 'cause really, I'm fine!

Who else is fine?!?!?

I say both as I don't know which is 'right' and I don't want to offend anyone :P Eg "would anybody like a scone(cone) or a scone (gone), whichever it is?"

S'cone [like cone], I didn't even know there was a different way to pronounce it until 30 seconds ago.

I've said it once,
I've said it twice,
I've said it a thousand ****ing times
that I'm okay,
that I'm fine,
that it's all just in my mind.

I'm not British but for what it's worth, I say scone as in cone.

I've never heard it said any other way.

After reading this whole thread, the word has now totally lost its meaning :P

I think I say both to be honest... I think Scone as in Gone is more natural to me though
