That yoghurt with lots of good bacteria? Actimel?
I saw an advert on TV about it, and it said that it helped with that bloated feeling. If it was on an advert then it must be true.

It is to an extent, unless you are me and your immune system mistakes good bacteria for bad so attacks it! *is grumbling*

But Jill, if you do have IBS it is a common side effect, I've heard a rumour that they best thing to help when bloated is to hug a hot water bottle

Are you eating in a way that is advised for someone with IBS?

Buscopan is good for IBS symptoms.

Stop thinking about what I want, what he wants, what your parents want. What do you want?

TBH I can't help you with symptoms of IBS as i suffer from IBD which is different, however I do know there is the odd member on here who suffers with IBS who may be able to help you.

The best thing is to talk to your Dr about it if you suffer with IBS as they may be able to prescribe you medication or suggest you avoid certain foods.

I suffer bloating due to IBS and what triggers it for me may not make you bloated and vice versa

i know a few people who suffer from IBS, they have to avoid ceretain foods, but for each of them, the foods are different, so really you have to find out for yourself what triggers off the symptoms.

I'm fine! Totally fine. I don't know why it's coming out all loud and squeaky, 'cause really, I'm fine!

Who else is fine?!?!?

Buscopan is what I'm on for my IBS - it's a life-saver! As for IBS, I agree with Cam:

Talk to a doctor, keep a food log and see what it is; if this is a regular thing then it could be IBS if you don't know already. Bloated feelings etc is how I first found out. And then, amusingly, was tested for absolutely everything else to prove it was IBS - admittedly quite an odd test, it has to be said.

Doesn't do anything for me, just makes me sick & my IBS doesn't seem to like it. =(

IBD stands for Inflamatory Bowel Disease. Things like Chrons and Ulcerative colitis. They are conditions that are slightly worse than IBS and are slightly more difficult to treat (on a side note, please be away I am not belittling IBS, I know how difficult it is to live with)

Odd member is not a screen name, and IBS effects people of both genders. I meant I know there are several members of the site who suffer from IBS who may be well suited to answering your questions than myself.

they should have it in the US.
i think its a pretty widely used medication. but im not entirely sure.

the only thing with buscopan, is that you have to line your stomach before taking it, or it will just make it worse.

if they dont have buscopan in the US, they will most probably have something that does the same thing but with a different name.
