Family and friends

Hello,

I am new to RecoverYourLife, but unsure where to post. I'm the spouse of someone who self-harms and I'm looking for resources to help in her recovery. I didn't see a forum designated for family and friends, so is it okay to just post in the most relevant forum? Should I post in the Introductions forum?

Thanks for your help!

It's fine to post in the relevant forums!

Also, well done for trying to help your wife in this troubling time!

Good luck.

Posting in either Self injury Discussion or General Support and Advice should give you the best replies.

This is a person who would be needing that carers/family supporters thread I brought up! :P

Shameless self promotion? :P

Welcome to RYL and I hope you find what you are looking for. I also think it is great that you try and support your spouse, I am sure it means a lot to them!

I may be a little late but I thought this was worth sharing.
First, I hope you find what you're looking for here, and welcome!
Information for Parents and Friends is an RYL article that helps friends and family understand self harm and how to support their loved one.
You can also find other resources regarding self harm here

As someone else has mentioned, making a thread in the Self Injury Discussion and Support forum would probably be the best place to make a post. This forum "Covers all areas of self injury. This forum includes advice, information, recovery and support." Be aware, if you chose to look around, that this forum contains threads made by other members talking about their experiences and feelings and some may be upsetting to read.

Giving up doesn't always mean you're weak.
Sometimes it just means you're strong enough to let go.
