International hotline/chat?

I really have no idea if this exists, I've tried to look it up a couple of times on the web but don't find anything. I live in a very small country, there is only one hotline number as far as I know, and I guess they will trace my call and send an ambulance, last thing I want. I'm facing a very difficult time and I would like to have the possibility to talk to someone whenever in the day/night, and even better, on an online chat. I know it's maybe too much to ask... I speak English and French (I'm French) so whatever in these languages would do. Some evenings are just so hard, I feel like I'm not gonna make it, so many suicidal and self harm thoughts... I'm afraid of myself... (right now I'm OK though, but yesterday or the day before yesterday, oh my...) So that's it, I was just wondering if anyone knew about an international hotline or chat (24/7 possibly)

I'm sorry to hear you're going through a hard time at the moment.

This website actually has a team of Supporters who are dedicated to answering emails from people in need of support. Check out how to do this & other information [here]. We also have a Live Chat facility; however this is currently not working due to technical problems.

There's a UK-based charity called the Samaritans who have an email address and people who reply to that as well - they probably have more volunteers who are able to reply. Their email address is jo@samaritans.org.

I'm sorry that I don't know any further information - maybe tell us which country you're in and that may help?

You can text and phone the Samaritans too. They don't trace your call and as far as I am aware they don't tend to send police/ambulance. In my experience phoning has been better for me, as even though picking up the phone for help is really hard, I have gotten better support that way, as a couple of times they stopped texting half way through the conversation!

That's just my experience though and yours may be totally different.
