I didn't find it triggering, even though I was having a bad day. However, I watch a lot of war films ets, so maybe I distinguish between self harm in film and just general injury?? I think it's watching the act itself that I find triggering, not just seeing an injury.
Anyway, I'm sorry you were triggered x

Change has a considerable psychological impact on the human mind. To the fearful it is threatening because it means that things may get worse. To the confident it is inspiring because the challenge exists to make things better. To the hopeful it is encouraging because things may get better.

I am so glad you posted this! I just came home a few min. ago from seeing this movie. The first time I saw her wounds in the movie, I was a little triggered...but then they kept showing the wounds!!! I almost felt like the makers wanted the audience to think about SI. My first thought after I left the theater was, "I wonder if anyone on RYL felt triggered by this movie too?" Sometimes injuries in movies make me think about SI, but this movie was just too much. The wounds were three perfect marks on her arm, how could the makers not realize what that looks like? I'm really sorry that you felt triggered by this movie, littlemermaid, but you are totally, and compleatly not alone in your feelings.

Oh, and let me add something...I had a great day today. I haven't SI in weeks. I had lunch with my grandma, I'm on my spring break still, and I was with my loving sisters; my mind was no where near SI till I watched this movie tonight.

Gosh. Just got back from watching Alice and it is rather triggering. Really unneccessarily so as well. What did they gain from showing the wounds that much and so clearly?
I was rather surprised it got away with being a PG to be honest.

Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future
that year by year recedes before us.
It eluded us then, but that's no matter - tomorrow we
will run faster, stretch out our arms further...
And one fine morning - So we beat on, boats against the current,
borne back ceaselessly into the past.

I saw this too, it triggered me as well... I hate how this happens whenever I see certain media. Like, in health the other day we watched the movie "28 Days" and a girl cut her leg... and it made me wish I had a knife...
I hate being triggered.

I thought I was being silly about being triggered by it, I mean come on - its Alice in Wonderland!!
I'm glad I went to see it though, it's an amazing film. And to be honest, I probably would have still gone to see it even if I knew beforehand that it would be triggering
