I thought it was really good but not as funny as the book was.
It was so sad though, and so true how they discharge you suddenly with no warning sometimes!
"Because you don't notice the light without a bit of shadow. Everything has both dark and light. You have to play with it until you get it exactly right."
I wasn't expecting it to be so good. The books ace too but I was surprised, it was well acted and intelligent. More stuff like that should be on tv.

How could you become as awesome as you are and still feel like a loser?
It made me cry at the end and the bits where she gave her the new hat and she'd been pulling her hair out.
And pouring the kettle on her arms.
And at the end when she was just lying there.
When a few months ago she'd been such a vibrant girl.
Brilliant acting on all parts!
This was absolutely fantastic. Two people horribly deluding themselves and blaming everyone else. Gritty stuff, but told in such a lighthearted way. Fab.
it was hard to watch at times, also hard to understand thier accents.
I just didnt like how, when you are said to be mentally ill, she starts acting like she was ill, and the veiwer is left to wonder weather she was ill all along, or because everyone told her she was ill she started to beivle it and act that way
"Its not how long a star shines, what is remembered is the brightness of the light"
I loved it, especially the soundtrack. I've watched it a few times, I keep changing my mind on certain bits of it each time though. At first it seemed like N was draining all the life from Poppy and slowly trying to become her, but second time watching it, I think N really admired Poppy and was just starting to gain confidence and learning to like herself more, from Poppy being there and being a proper first friend to her. But then again, watching it again earlier, it seemed like the times when N was seemingly getting better, she was getting really ill (acting like poppy, wearing her coat, dressing like her, talking like her).
And the job interview with Poppy confused me, that was a trick? I know a lot of the film was delusions by the patients but if there really was a job interview, surely that can't happen, they'd need second opinions before just forcing someone like that, or would they? even though N found out she was just used and "normal".
And yeah, the bit with Poppy starting to go downhill (anxiety at daughters school, self harming, etc) i can't decide if poppy was actually ill to start with or if it was being there and trying to act that way to get out that brought her down.
i loved it personally althou i have met people kind of like poppy who have entered a day hospital and become worse because of it althou i think that happens to most people
