So, my mum was watching a film about a murderer, and I was feeling pretty low, and then it hit me-If you murder someone who is about to commit suicide, is it murder, or assisted euthenasia? O.o
You're mad, bonkers, off your head.
But let me tell you something; All the best people are-Alice in wonderland.

Then wear the gold hat, if that will move her;
If you can bounce high, bounce for her too,
Till she cry "Lover, gold-hatted, high-bouncing lover,
I must have you!"

Definitely murder if it's not consented i.e assisted suicide. Suicide is doing things on your own terms, and even if you were suicidal being killed by someone else would be terrifying and horrific. Assisted suicide is more complicated, though. I don't personally believe it's murder, but then it's hard to prove willful and unmanipulated consent.
I see what everyone's getting at when they say murder's still murder, but I think it would really depend on the circumstances. I think if someone was about to commit suicide, and you decided to go up to them and speed things up for them, that would be murder, but I think that if that person had explicitly asked you to help, it would be euthanasia. So it would depend on their expressed wishes.
I agree that it depends upon the person's wishes. If they hadn't asked you to, it's still murder because they might have changed their mind and not killed themself. But I don't agree that euthanasia is murder, I don't know if I could personally do it, but I do have sympathy with those who do. If someone really wanted me to, someone I really loved, I guess my own doubts about hurting them would come after their wishes, so maybe I would. Idk. Anyway, getting off track.
Yeah it does legally speaking but morally speaking? Idk.
'Morally speaking' depends completely on the individual.
Everyone has their own morals dependant on the environment they've been brought up in and different ideas of what is right and what is wrong. (it is true that our morals may be reasonably similar but we cannot calculate to what extent that is because of similar experiences in life)
Morals don't necessarily tally with laws.
Morals are complex. (and I don't claim to be an expert ;P )
