Possibly Triggering - Disposal of tools?

Yeah, in May I'll be a year free, and I've been having really bad urges lately, so I want to get rid of my "tools".
I feel a bit stupid asking this, but how do you do it? Not emotionally, I can deal with that (now), but can you just put them in the bin or do you have to package them or something?
Yeah, I can't deal with guilt at the moment so I'm scared my cat will snoop through the bins or a bin-"person" may get hurt hence why I've kept them so long.
Sorry for wasting your time and being a complete nubbin.

I wrapped my old stuff up.
Then shoved it in my bag and went to town...
and when i felt happy, i just pulled it out and put it in a bin.
I was that distracted by my friends that i didnt realise until i noticed they were all grinning at my stupidly...
then it felt good :]

Good luck!

...&& the cracks begin to show...

I don't have any ideas on how you could get rid of them but wrapping them up sounds like a good idea. Well done on being a year free

I like that idea. its a good motivation, and you might not notice so much, especially if you are with friends etc.

well done on your achievement. i think that you should perhaps consider getting rid. as for packaging, excellent idea for safety purposes for you and others (and your cat) if you are puttingthem somewhere public. why not wrap them up as much as you can so you cant access them either?

good luck and i congratulate you on your bravery, i have considered this move but never quite got there.

wrapped them up, put into a bag,put the bag in the bin and put the bin into my wheelie bin (not for safety but to stop me going into the bin to get them back) i did that for everything that i could possibly use, hence my room having been rather empty of a lot of random junk!

Lace me up...

i gave most of them to my therapist but the few ive had to get rid of myself i usually tape up any sharp edges, but them in a carrier in another carrier and then just put them in the bin.

Thanks everyone, as the parents are out I think I'll do some wrapping. I wish there was someone I could give them to, don't get me wrong EVERYONE knows, but noone knew I was that bad, and I'm not in the mood for shocking people.
Thanks again and sorry for this pointless thread. *blush*

if you put sellotapes on the sharp edges, that really works well and will avoid a good deal of accidents. Also wrapping them up, or throwing them away in a box *nods*

Congrats!!!!

Also, in some public toilets there are some sharps disposal bins... in Cambs, there's some and they have symbols for needles and razorblades on it. I've always felt I should do that, but I just can't let go of them. It's like a safety net. I'm glad you feel you can do this :)

Tell me why it's always the same
Explain me the reason why I'm so much in pain.

it's been 2 years and I still can't :| feel so pathetic but it's still like a sort of safety net thing, I think.
