Hair

Yes another woman talking about hair

Anyways, just bleached my hair and obviously it's gone thin and snapped a bit at points (Am aware of the normality of this situation) leaving conditioner on it for a while etc.

Question: If I dye it with a normal perminent hair colour is it going to make it worse/not a difference?
Either way I have to put colour on it but want to know whether to leave it till the morning.

It's been so long since I last used bleach and it all went hideously wrong last time.

thanks.

depends what colour it is. i found that make can affect it too. what colour you wanting to apply?

leaving conditioner on the whole head does nothing for bleach damaged hair where it's important; at the tips. you need to get a regular trim on it.

Done. Hair is getting cut in morning thus bleaching tonight.

It's a redish purple, always use purple dyes which are obviously red based but I'm changing the shade so I wanted to lift out as much of the old colour as possible, reckon itll kill it?

Can't lift colour out of bleached hair, there's no colour left to lift.

Personally coloured over bleached hair numerous times and it all worked out fine and dandy. If it's an amonia/peroxide based dye I don't reccomend leaving it on overnight. Your hair will fall out. Vegetable based dye like crazy colour/manic panic is fine to leave on.

Ahh I mis-read. Bleach will lift out the colour, no problems. Might take a little longer than bleaching your natural hair does though. Still, don't leave it on all night.

Don't dye your hair ever, it completely ruins the roots and results in more split ends than I care for.

you can dye your hair but if you dye it too much thats when hair goes bad.

No, it starts going bad from the very first time you dye it. As long as you take proper care of it when the dye is gone then it will be ok because it won't be a long lasting badness.

I'd have to agree with "Old Greg" tbh
Been ****ing with my hair since I was 13 and needless to say its f*ck'd
Problem is, once you start it's bloody hard to stop.
Specially when you've darkened your hair and you have blonde roots.

Just be careful when dying hair, and do it in moderation.

My sister had brown hair with red highlights...she's dyed it various colours for 5ish years and when it isn't dyed it's a very very boring brown with no more highlights...so she dyes more.

Mine is brown with blonde highlights, never dyed, and everyone (but me) loves it.
