Flamazine

Hi,
I have been burning myself a lot recently and have been getting my burns treated by the practice nurse during the week and the district team at a weekend. On Friday i got a prescription for flamazine (Silver sulphadiazine) and yesterday the district nurse applied it to a couple of the deeper burns. but all last night and this morning i have had a burning sensation where the cream has been applied. I dont really know what to do as i am not really supposed to remove the dressings or mess with the wounds myself.

Any advice welcome!

IT's probably worth getting it looked at ASAP. It could be that you're sensitive/allergic to it. Have you ever taking Trimethoprim which is often used for Urinary Infections? If you have did you react to it? It definately shouldn't produce a burning sensation so that needs to be looked at to check no more damage is being caused

this is going to sound silly but do you have any allergy to silver jewellery. i would phone the nurse that prescribed it or a pharmacy as they will no a bit more about the particular dressing . burning does suggest a allergy or at least an itolerance to the dressing, i get the same with iodine dressings. but def phone someone sweetie x
