Cream tea - jam first or cream first?

I was wondering which was more popular: cream first or jam first?

According to google the cornish cream tea has the jam first then the cream but the Devon cream tea has the cream first then the jam.

Are you from either county? Do you follow your county's rules?

Thoughts please

Cream first. Unless I am in Cornwall then I will do it jam first so as not to offend them and end up being banished!

I do cream first
I am from neither Devon nor Cornwall!

I'm fine! Totally fine. I don't know why it's coming out all loud and squeaky, 'cause really, I'm fine!

Who else is fine?!?!?

Cream first because how the heck to you spread cream on the top of jam without wiping off the jam?!!

It's more like blobbing cream on top of jam rather than spreading. It is possible.

I don't like cream enough to blob it on though. I basically 'butter' the scone with it

I think the cream is in place of butter so should be first. I’m a lady who likes to get the most out of these things so I go butter, jam then cream. I used to like Devonshire Splits. Anyone heard of them?
