I know change can be difficult, but thinking about it, maybe it's a good thing there's a new consultant? You haven't been happy with how things are going with staff, and a new consultant might mean a new perspective and maybe more effective care. That's not a promise, obviously, but maybe it will actually be good to have someone new. I hope so, at least

Yes okay I'll do that thanks. I've written some notes down so hopefully my advocate will turn up and help me with it.

I guess increasing meds and working towards getting leave when I'm ready. Talking about how my week has been and the lack of psychology I'm getting.

Thank you, that's true. I really like the understudy doctor but the last consultant I struggled with and she seems nice so hoping it will go well with her.

Thank you both. It went okay I guess. I'm a little intimidated by the new consultant.

I'm glad it went ok. Sorry you felt a bit intimidated by the consultant, do you know why that is? I hope your relationship with them improves.

Maybe she was just asking loads of questions to get to know you. Of course she will have read your notes but she'd want to hear things from your perspective. How has your day been?

Maybe but I've spoken to two other people who have had reviews today and they said they went badly and that they don't like her so thats worrying.

It's been tiring but I slept most of the day. I've got to see the assistant psychologist at 9.30am tomorrow and I don't know what to say.

That sounds anxiety provoking! But I suppose maybe think about what you’d do in that position. I know if I was trying to support somebody and didn’t know them, I’d rather hear from them themselves than rely on notes, even if it meant lots of questions.

Questions, especially from someone you don’t know can be really difficult but on the other side, if she didn’t are then I doubt she’d have asked all that. So it may feel like interrogation but I doubt that will be a permanent thing and in the short term it may well be a sign they care!

First impressions of people can change, I hope you feel more comfortable with the consultant soon.

How did it go with the assistant psychologist?

I guess so. I just couldn't help feeling intimidated.

It went okay thanks. I'm not sure I got much out of it though.

My mum had a telephone meeting with the managers today and they're going to have a meeting with the staff about me tomorrow.

How are you feeling about the meeting? I hope it goes alright. Will you get feedback from it?

I'm sorry you're feeling like that; I can imagine it's quite easy to end up feeling quite alone when you've been in hospital for a while. Are there other patients whose company you enjoy?

How long have you've been on the haloperidol? Maybe there will be an option to increase the dose at some point.

We’ll find a way to fight it, we always have.

Thank you. Yes there are luckily. I'm hoping so. Feeling triggered off and agitated because the same girl who gets all the attention etc from staff kicked off big time over something minor and then while she was kicking off in the garden I said to my nurse could I have some PRN and I was waiting by the meds room then they brought the girl in from the garden and the other nurse tried to push her infront of me for PRN the two nurses argued but the one who was on my side said "she's distressed too, and it's first come first serve it's only fair" and pushed me infront of the girl (who's actually a 31 year old woman) for PRN and then the girl who I keep referring to kept saying "fuck you fuck you" and now I'm really triggered and agitated

Sorry you had to experience that but I’m pleased the nurse stood her ground for you, because it should be first come first serve except for in a crisis situation and it sounds like they looked at it holistically and made the right decision.

Re the other girls swearing, I know from experience how shit that can make you feel on the wards, she is poorly (as are you), but despite that you found the strength to hold your shit together and stay calm. Not everybody can do that.
