what unethical practices are those? I thought they stocked fair trade cofee and rainforest alliance and so forth.

but they don't let their workers join trade unions and saturate the market with coffee shops forcing smaller local ones out of business. Once the local ones have closed down, starbucks then closes some of it's stores leaving it with a market monopoly. You can get fairtrade coffee from sources a lot more ethical than starbucks.
Also only 6% of their products are actually certified fairtrade and o.4% of their profits are spent on charitable works. Means they get the kudos of fairtrade without the effort.
i suppose thats the thing with big corporations. always taking advantage of the loopholes.

I don't drink tea or coffee- not for any ethical reasons, I just don't like the taste much. If I go in starbucks it's for a hot chocolate with whipped cream, or for a chocolate creme (which I think is a milkshake?).

carmel hot choc was the first drink i got from starbucks. I remember the smile on my face.
I was also laughing a little, because i was with my father and all he asked for was "a large coffee" completely diregarding the arge coffee selection and the words Starbucks uses like tall, grande and venti.
The person behind the till looked like he'd just spoken a different language.
