Stuff You Wish You'd Told Before Starting Secondary School
Plagiarizing Platinum's thread, but this time stuff that would of helped during secondary school. /can include sixth form or college/
- Aldi IS crap, but Somerfield sells exactly the same Coca Cola (etc...) as Sainsburys.
- the brand of your trousers, shirts, writing equipment, p.e. clothes ( etc...) is not important.
- although the brand of your shoes & coat are. You'll learn why especially in winter.

The older kids are not nice to you.
The food in the canteen is not edible.
The teachers are not your friends.
It wont matter if you get lost in your first couple of weeks.
It wont matter if you forget your books for the first couple of weeks.
The food in the canteen is not edible.
The teachers are not your friends.
Actually I disagree with those.
Firstly, school cookies are exactly, if not better than Subway cookies. They only cost 30p and were a godsend when you didn't have any breakfast, which I never did.
Secondly, my GCSE English teacher, was probably the best teacher I ever had and was also the nicest, almost constantly stretching homework due dates and allowing me to do what I wanted for coursework instead of following everyone else. Of which I got the highest grade I ever did get in school.
-friends become enmenies (sp)
-Never tell teachers Anything
-It is not ages before you do GCSEs

Mostly it's stuff that I had been told, and just wish I'd listen too... Same with uni, too...
But one thing is to make friends with some teachers - you're gonna need letters of recommendation from them for college (uni). At least in the US, I guess in the UK it's just test scores, right?
If your teacher says she's going to collect homework all every few weeks rather than the day it's due, don't leave it all till the last day!
Some tests you actually do need to study for.

Intense at times...but pretty damn good.
Teachers are also pretty nice where I am...
...Though I have the judgement skills of blah - my mum says half the ones I like are wankers...
I'd definatley say be yourself, don't let anyone change who you are. except maybe that one person you really care for, if it's for the better, and you know they won't screw you around.
Kinda like the 'stick up for yourself' one...
