Actually in australia they are called chips so either we are strange or you lot are.
They're chips in the US as well... And considering potato chips were invented in the US, our name came first, plus we outnumber the UK people by a heck of a lot... so "chips" is both the original and the more popular name, and is therefore the non-strange one :)

Don't worry, i wont start about how we have been speaking the English language and developed it long before the colonies. Oh yeah, we were also in charge of your country way before your government ws formed. Sooooo, does the fact you had the word before us mean yours is right? Or are you prepared to change your dictionaries as the same as ours and hand over control of your countries back to Britain or the natives ;] LOL

But Josh, wouldn't we have to go all the way back to Old English, not just modern British English? Languages are constantly evolving, and the majority generally wins
