Morning Nausea

Does anyone else feel really nauseous when waking up? Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. I know one of the symptoms of depression is nausea but it doesn't happen all the time, mostly in the mornings (and sometimes at work)

This may sound silly, but could you be pregnant?

If not, and you are experiencing other symptoms of depression, perhaps it would be worth seeking some treatment for it, if you are not already.

I used to feel a bit sick in the morning and struggle to eat breakfast because I was anxious about the day ahead. Could it be that?

Either a bout of flu or you are pregnant?

Get checked out by your doctor. There are many reasons for nausea, not just mental health related.

Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…

Oops, sorry! Not the most helpful of suggestions then :P Have you been able to see your doctor about it?

Haven't seen the doctor about it as It doesn't really affect me too much, and I haaate going to the doctors. I don't think it is stress, as I haven't been stressed a lot (at the consequence of not feeling anything, but eh, thats depression lol) but still felt sick. It has eased off a bit more recently thankfully. I'm starting to think it maybe has/had something to do with an overdose of painkillers I had a few years ago. Either way, I don't think it's anything serious

Did you get checked out when you overdosed a few years ago? Could it be side effects of any meds you're on?

I put it down on paper and then the ghost does not ache so much.

Don't try to calm the storm, calm yourself, the storm will pass.

I've been wondering the same about nausea and sometimes dizzyness in the mornings and evenings (generally when getting in/out of bed) because it only happens when I'm especially stressed out. I think of something that worries me and I get sick to my stomach or the world takes a spin. But I got anxiety and it fits the bill. Also can't be pregnant because my spouse and I don't have the necessary equipment to make that happen.

Another possible explanation I didn't see mentioned might be low blood sugar in the morning. Have you noticed it varying based on how you ate the day before?

Thats a good theory actually. I don't eat a lot because I don't usually have much of an appetite so maybe that's it?

I recently started taking antidepressants, so with the other side effects comes nausea. Bad nausea for me now, worse than before. Fun times. Also, unrelated but my pupils sometimes get suuuper dilated sometimes now, so much that you can barely see the iris of my eyes. I heard thats common on SSRI's though. Anyway, maybe I'll try eating some gummy bears or something throughout the day. Gummy bears are good :P

and to answer this, yeah, I was in hospital for a week because of it, but I cant remember much of what happened or what the doctors told me. I was never given any medication though, so i didnt think there was much lasting damage

Next time you see the doctor who prescribed the SSRI I think it would be worth mentioning it. They might be able to suggest something to help with the nausea.
