Olivers BCG burst this morning. (whilst he was laying in our bed, it was gross). anyway, hes now got in the middle of where its red a tiny hole, im guessing where the needle went in. its not oozing and doesnt seem sore. Its Saturday so i cant het to see anyone, i just wondered if anyone had experienced similar.
Not sure if it counts, but I had my BCG when I was 16, and it burst and was disgusting and pussy and I was told it was fine, and just to leave it alone. It healed up on it's own after a little while, but it was pretty disgusting at the time. I think I was told not to cover it, but it was a few years ago now, so I'm not certain.

Charlie I would just keep it clean with water and make sure you aren't getting any lotion or anything in it. I think you still aren't supposed to cover them or it will slow healing.

I think a layer of breatheable gauze would be a good idea until you can get professional advice. Mine burst and was really gross for ages and they dressed it with gauze cos otherwise it rubbed on everything, even though you're not meant to cover them, I think breathable stuff is ok and you can tape it round the endges or wrap it in a bandage so you're not taping over the wound and cutting the air off.

Can you explain a bit more about where exactly it hurts and what kind of pain (burning, itching) and if anything feels like it has actually moved and what makes it better or worse etc?

How long postnatal are you now? If you ring a local gp they may well see you and get registered whilst you're there. For now maybe try something cool like an ice pack or something. I bought expensive gel packs for postnatal pain but midwife said a wet frozen wad of kitchen towel applied to the area would work well too

i feel like im missing out on this thread as i never get time to come online much.. how do all you other mummys do it? i barely have time to sit and enjoy a hot drink or meal still, wouldnt change it for the world though.
really disliking this weather. miss being able to go out for walks etc. sitting in the house or being in a play cafe or shopping centre is no fun for me or dylan all the time. would love to go swimming but its hard work just the two of us going when it comes to gettting changed. hopefully go at the weekend when dylans daddy is off work!
