I'd be happy for you if not for my near-murderous jealousy.
Still, let me know how it was.

Sorry for the massive bump, but I'm going to see them in... 10 days. So excited!

I've avoided listening to MSP for years but today I finally got around to listening to The Holy Bible and I love it, which is a rare thing that I like a band/or album on first listen

Hell, it's kind of rare for anyone to love The Holy Bible on the first listen, even MSP fans. It's my favourite Manics album by far, but most people find that it's kind of an acquired taste. Very tough to listen to.

The Holy Bible is such a powerful, raw album. I can see how it would be hard to get into on the first little, but I found I was immediately struck by it. There's something so urgent and gripping about it. I find it's not the sort of things I can listen to on the bus though, too upsetting! I like the album Send Away the Tigers a lot for more casual listening. The Manics are amazing though, I love them all <3

I can see why some people would find it hard to get into but then the CD fits a style of music I was looking for perfectly and I noticed quite some similarities between MSP style on T.H.B. and some of the songs I've written for my former projects that I thought were abit to, well it's hard to explain .

The Holy Bible was the first Manics album I bought and I loved it from the first time I listened to it.

I absolutely adore the Manics.
My favourite album is probably The Holy Bible. The lyrics are just so amazing. Richey was/is a brilliant lyricist. They made me a lot more aware and intellectual. I can also relate to some of their songs. I used to be really obsessed with them and I still listen to them, just not as frequently.
