It makes sense to me, its like relearning that the sky is blue and wondering how you ever thought it was anything other than blue. Is there anyone you could talk to in a de-briefing sort of way? It might help to process where it all came from and provide a safe place to talk about things that you couldn't talk about in the moment.

I did have a really good time.

Finding it a bit hard that my family are on holiday
I worry about bad things happening

What is it that worries you about your family being away? Is it the flight?

Do your family keep in touch regularly when they are on holiday so you can at least have a bit of reassurance?

I don't think its anything specific
Just that they aren't around

My mum messages me regularly and sends photos which is always reassuring

Go you being informal! I understand it not being nice to go back on the ward after a day out but it shouldn't be for too long now. I'm slightly concerned my pressie to you will arrive at the ward and you'll be home :P
