I'm sure your support workers will be able to help you anyway. You hopefully won't be alone until you feel comfortable doing daily things.

Best to be honest with the staff about the staple. It wasn't all your doing and it must have been uncomfortable.

I dunno about grocery delivery there, but here it's just that it's usually booked a few days out. So as long as you set your order up in advance, then it seems to work okay. I know having carers wasn't your favorite plan, but maybe they can help you work out some of the stuff you need to do and how to handle things. So it might not be awful.

Staples really suck (honestly they're so much worse than stitches imo) and I don't blame you for taking the one out. It doesn't sound like you did as a self harm thing, and they probably would have had to take it out anyways. I hope they are kind if you tell them.

Lillie is right to qualify for an priority slot the government would have sent you an letter. Some people would have had texts too. Apparently people who are classified as a priority would have also had emails from the various supermarkets if they had an account with them. Unfortunately in your case having mh problems and epilepsy doesnt qualify for a priority slot.

It may be worth trying several supermarkets to get an online shopping order even if they are ones that you dont normally shop at. Apparently Iceland release slots for the next day during the day and are one of the better ones to get an slot. If you have room in your freezer and Iceland delivers to you they may be your best bet. If you are able to buy meat in bulk musclefood is another good one as they use yodel to deliver. You can freeze the meat so if you're on your own you dont have worry about eating a load of chicken. Or if you're good at following recipes then hellofresh is a good one and you can split the meals in 2 as they primarily cater for 2 people. Small shops are often better than big supermarkets in terms of queues and availability of goods so if you have one nearby it may be better shopping there rather than trekking to Asda.

A handy tip: if you go outside make sure you go to the loo before going. Not many public loos are open and even ones in most shops are closed.

Thanks everyone

I told them about the staple and luckily they understood
It was incredibly uncomfortable!

It's always set up in advance here Camden but apparently some people can't get delivery slots for weeks if at all

Staples are definitely worse than stitches!
They understood that it wasn't a self harm thing and that it was on its way out anyway

I don't really have a big enough freezer for Iceland and I don't eat a great deal of meat usually
I'll need to go to the shop sooner anyway because I'll need milk and food until I can do a bigger shop

I'm fine! Totally fine. I don't know why it's coming out all loud and squeaky, 'cause really, I'm fine!

Who else is fine?!?!?

I'm glad they understood about the staple.

Would you be ok with doing more regular smaller shops? Until you can get a slot. The trick is to keep checking, I've had a slot before and then started another slot because an earlier one had been deleted and then I cancelled the later slot. Maybe your neighbours would be helpful with getting some things in for you if they have a car.

I usually do daily shops anyway tbh
Mainly because I can't carry a lot and I don't really eat enough to justify doing a massive online shop!
My neighbours don't drive but I know they'd get me stuff if I asked

Some taxi firms here are picking up click and collect orders from supermarkets and delivering them to your door. Of course getting an click and collect order is just as hard as getting an online shopping order and you would have to factor in the cost of an taxi, but could that be an option?

Might end up being quite expensive though

I'm sure I'll be ok!

Just a thought beckie but when the world isnt as crazy I do a big online shop of non perishable like pasta and rice and tins etc and then cleaning stuff and laundry stuff and toiletries and loo roll. Usually that adds up to enough for minimum delivery. That way all you really need is bread, milk and fruit which you can get in a corner shop if the supermarket is overwhelming to do straight away

Given enough tea I could rule the world.

Are you still going home today? I hope things go smoothly and you are able to get home safely if so.

Yes I am finally home!
I thought I'd messed it up with the crisis team because they noticed the cut from last week but I did a safety plan and it's all good!

Thank you :)

I'm ok. Happy to be home!
A bit worried about how I'll cope tonight but I'm sure I'll be ok
I made a post on a local page about masks and tips on how to navigate shops and people have been helpful

*Starts happy to be home party*

I am so happy for you.

I wonder if you could plan anything for tonight to keep you distracted if you feel unsafe?

I'm glad the post had helpful replies, do you feel a bit more prepared now? It's scary but you got this <3
