Safe - Piercing question

Hi. I had my cartilage pierced back in May and crusties always form over night and when I wake up I have to remove them. I went to a piercing place a while back so they could change my earring for me and she said it has healed fine, but why am I still getting crusties? Do cartilage piercings just take a long long time to heal properly?

Thanks.

Cartilage takes much longer to heal, I dont know how long exactly though, but I am guessing months not weeks.

Cartiledge takes 6-12 months on average to heal. For some people it's longer and it depends on whether or not the piercing has had trauma to it, your immune system, etc.

Yep, with cartilage ones you're not just going through skin which heals relatively quickly but as the name implies, also cartilage which doesn't heal quickly, is designed to resist damage and it oozes a lot whilst healing as well as it having an increased chance of rejection than many other piercings as well as having keloid scarring developing around them.
