You will have support while it happens and it should be pretty quick, try to keep that in mind.

Did you ask if it’s definitely bum not arm? Also, hopefully they’ll get it ready before you even go into the room, the actual injecting part will be less than twenty seconds! (Ive given a lot of depots lol). I would say best of luck but I honestly don’t think you need it. The ward staff will be sooooo used to giving injections, they’re def the best people to give you your first

Thank you for the reassurance. I did wonder how long it would take. 20 seconds sounds like a long time to me :( so it's not like a normal injection that takes a few seconds? yes hoping they will get it ready beforehand so I don't have to see it. Otherwise I'll end up freaking out and saying I'm not having it! People keep implying it's in the bum but a couple of staff have said it can be in the arm so I'm confused.

Feeling unsafe. No one to talk to.

Do you want to talk about why you feel unsafe?

Are there any nice staff around you can talk to?

I just keep thinking of doing things in my room like ligaturing. Yes my favourite nurse is on today but I'm not allocated to her. My allocated nurse is okay though. She said she's gonna find me when she's free.

I'm glad you're allocated nurse is ok but if you'd rather talk to someone else, that should be ok too.

She's nice but she started talking to me about going back to work (clearly I'm in no fit state to work) she rushes one to ones with me they tend to last about 5 or 10 mins and makes suggestions that doesn't help. I wish I was allocated to other staff that I like.

I don't think there's anything wrong with talking to a nurse who understands you.

Yeah I've asked one of the nurses for a private chat. I'm gonna tell her in a nice way that I don't find the hca I keep being allocated to helpful and hopefully they'll stop allocating me to her.

Yeah the nurse was lovely and understanding.

Bit annoyed cause staff took my room key off me because I'm unsafe. So I have to stay in communal areas which I'm finding difficult.

I'm glad they're keeping you safe but I understand how hard it is having to stay in the communal areas.

Is there something you can do in the communal areas to move your attention away from the people etc? Like reading or listening to music?

I put it down on paper and then the ghost does not ache so much.

Well done on talking to the nurse, that took a lot of courage and you should be proud of yourself (I'm proud of you). As others have said obviously being in the communal areas isn't what you'd like but a distraction while you're there is a good idea.

I think my Mum is hopefully gonna bring up a crossword book later so that may help if my brain manages to think properly. I did a word search earlier. That's about it really. Thank you guys really appreciate your support especially while I'm stuck in hospital and having such a hard time x

Great news about the visit, I find word searches/cross words particularly helpful too.
