I really should finish it......Id like to hopethat Vets doesnt carry the same stigma it used to but i do know people are still a little scared of the place.

Its a shame its not as active as it used to be. but good that so many no longer use it as i really do hope those who no longer do have moved on to better things!

Thank you for the post Matt. I first thought that Vets were ppl who had been around the site for a long time but your post explains things nicely. When i first came to RYL i nearly left thinking i didn't fit in because i was too old (35) but I think that the issues we face with MI are often the same regardless of age.

Been around for a little while, and agree whole heartedly. I have never read such a true statement.

I can associate with the feelings when I first came on I was afraid I wouldn't fit in because I was older. Thanks to a great friend I ventured in and have stayed in vets. That is truly well said!

Thanks for posting this. I hate saying my age so I say i'm over 35 and I am but in truth I'm just over 40 and have been SI since I was 13. For me my age is a very sticky subject partly as my bio age doesn't match my mental age. Best way to describe me is I'm an adult but also still very much a child.

I've found its not that I'm intimated by those younger its the fact that I am older and still fighting/struggling and still SI that makes it hard for me to say stuff cuz I feel like. like something is wrong w/ me. And that what I was told growing up feels more like truth.

To me those younger who can admit their struggles and ask for help and support are brave.. braver than I was at that age, braver than I am even now. Its only within the last 6 months that I've finally admitted what I do to myself.

I've posted in other places on here as still figuring out what goes where, and have found everyone no matter their age to be so supportive. It helps to know that I'm not alone.
