It sounds like your bodies resilience is starting to creak, please do act now whilst you have choices in your options.

Do you think that writing the nurses a note that you need help with your eating would be easier than talking?

You have mentioned control a lot and the path you are on is leading to less and less control. You can still have control by finding ways to work with those that are around you, the world of IV and NG tubes gives you no control. I doubt that they are bringing them up just to frighten you.

Take care.

My nurse asked me to write down pros and cons of not eating. I could only think of one con which was having to lie to my family about what I'm eating. Normally she would help me think of the other side but today she didn't. I think she hasx given up on me.

If con is too strong a word right now, would thinking of the inconveniences of not eating be helpful? Just an approach I sometimes find helpful when the ED voices are strong - maybe fainting for example?

I hope you manage to speak to her again, it sounds like she is willing to go at your pace and maybe that will help you open up a bit more with time.

My CPN came to see me this morning, ahead of the managers appeal on Tuesday (I think that's what it is). He said I've lost lots of weight and asked me if it was deliberate. I explained about wanting to feel in control.

The psych was talking about ECT and he said I need to be eating and drinking properly. That scares me more than having a seizure. What do I do?

Would it help to have some ed specific support? That goes beyond "you need to eat" and looks at the underlying aspects? It seems that it is starting to impact on your life now. Do you think you could speak to a member of your team about it? Eating disorders can be dangerous at any weight. Please think about it. Leaves love.

I'm IP at the moment. My family have been on at me to talk to my primary nurse about my eating and I'm hopefully meeting her tomorrow so I will try to ask for help then. But I don't know what to say?

I'm very confused. I didn't lose any weight this week despite restricting a lot. Does anyone know why this is?

I admitted to my mum that I hadn't been having the fresubins as prescribed so I'm going to have them when my family visit to make it easier.

If you restrict too heavily you can stay the same weight or even seem to gain as your body doesn't know where it's next meal is coming from so stores anything it can/already has. This is why eating little and often is better.

Having the fresubins on family visits sounds like a very positive idea, well done.

Change of plan. Going to have fresubins at meds times, watched by the nurse then be locked out my bathroom for an hour.

I shouldn't have told mum the truth, I should be restricting.

Hey are there other forms of support for you on IP besides RYL?
I was wondering as you seem to measure a lot of your behaviours by family visits and communications with your nurse.

What ever is going on that is making you compulsively feel like you should.....is there any group counselling or distracting activities so that if you do have a fresubin you could engage in an activity to help you tolerate or not go to the bathroom for an hour +?

I don't understand this, sorry. Could you rephrase it?

There are no activities while they do meds.

Could you make your own activity, like colouring or something?

I've got puzzle and colouring books, I could use them.

It was a mistake telling mum. The voices are going back to saying everything is poisoned.

I can't do this, I don't want to eat. Logically i know the voices have said before that food and meds were poisoned but it feels like a real danger.

You can do it. You should do it. You need to eat. The danger is just a feeling. You know there is no logical reason to trust voices in this situation, right?
