Question about shopping
This is just a general pondering really... more of a substantial musing...
How does one deal with Buyers Remorse? I ask because I have this ALL THE TIME!

You mean when you buy something on impulse then regret it?
I have been lectured so much lately about my shopping so I've had to implement a 24 hour rule for myself. Basically, if I see someone I want, instead of buying it there and then as soon as I see it, which I usually would, I make myself wait 24 hours and think over whether I really need it? Often now I realise I don't actually, so I don't bother buying it.
I also have so much stuff in my wish lists that I do want but I know I'll probably never end up buying any of it, but I just have to tell myself again that I don't actually need it, I just want it, and yes it would be nice to have it but it's also ok that I don't.
It's not easy when shopping is more or less my one pleasure and it really only works with online shopping but I have also seen several stuff in shops lately that I wanted but talked myself out if buying as really I had no room for them anyway. So yeah, good luck, I hope this has helped a bit. Just try to be practical instead of impulsive (eek!) yeah it's strange for me but I have no choice anymore.

I generally buy myself things when I have done something good, if its frivolous stuff, that way I dont feel bad about it. But if I do get buyers remorse I tend to ignore it till it goes away :p x

There are times to stay put, and what you want will come to you.
But there are times to go out into the world and find such a thing for yourself.
I aint no abacus but you can count on me.

Dont buy things :p
Seriously though I get this. I used to be really bad at impulsive/compulsive shopping. Now I've made a strict budget for myself, and within that allowed a certain amount of money per month to 'blow' on impulse stuff. But if I blow it all in week 1 I wont have any more for 3 weeks.
It's working quite well actually!

Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…

Hey I told my parents earlier that I saw a few things I wanted to buy yesterday in a shop but limited to myself to just 2 things, I'm really glad now cos I really didn't need the other stuff (not that I had the money for it all anyway) but my mam said I'm finally learning some sense, so that was nice to hear. Just thought I'd share that if I can learn to be sensible about shopping then anyone can, I was the worst, I swear. Well ok I'm sure there are people worse but I was still bad. I'm proud of myself now.

As I'm quite good with my money I do give myself a good day or two to see if I REALLY want the thing in mind enough to buy it after waiting.
I usually only buy things if;
1. I have the money.
2. If I actually need it.
&
3. If I don't have something similar.
Otherwise I'll leave it. I find making a "wish list" bookmark folder helps so if I'm feeling crappy and want to treat myself or if I've done good with something I can go to the folder and treat myself to something nice. :)

First - can you return it? :p
And Secondly I then think about the fact what's done is done and there's nothing I can do about it. Easier said than done. Just repeating that and distracting when the thoughts come back.

That's another good point, think about whether you might already have something similar. If you do then you may not necessarily need it at all.

Don't buy anything when you really really want it. Wait until the "pull" goes away and you're objective. You can't buy everything you want. When you pass on something there is always something else that comes up. Last month I really wanted to buy a bigger TV. Then I passed on it and was glad becasue I really didn't need it. Then I got good deals on tents and stuff and bought that instead. We get caught up with things. Dry out before buying the same thing goes for getting married etc lol
