New Year's Resolutions and Goals.

I don't usually make New Year's Resolutions or Goals but this year I aim to:

Stay free from SH.
Stay out of hospital.
Do a few hours in a charity shop.

What are yours?

Good luck with your goals, they sound really positive.

I'm not making any resolutions, just sticking to my positives jar again.

I put it down on paper and then the ghost does not ache so much.

These all sound really positive. Good luck to everybody with their resolutions this year. I’d love to make a resolution not to SH, but I know that would be setting myself up for failure I am trying to stop, but really need some help doing so as for the last 15 years it has been my go-to coping mechanism whenever things get too overwhelming. This year my resolutions are to try to exercise regularly, to build my confidence about sharing my ideas with my supervisors / other academics, and to try to present my research at a conference.

Can I ask, what's your research on?

I'm glad there's a thread about this!

Those sound like great goals tamo.

Positives jars are great Lindsay :)

Those are amazing goals Soft Kitty, good luck with them!

Great goals Joanna, I hope you manage to do the things you want to do :)

Good luck Starbuck88, I can imagine it being really tough to share your ideas, so I hope you manage to build up your confidence.

This year my goals are:
- Finish my course and qualify as a social worker. Get a job!
- Get fitter and healthier. I've started working on it already and I've registered for a half marathon in May. I'll be fundraising for a charity and I'm thinking about doing some other challenges that I've been thinking about for years!
- I want to meet more people and make friends this year. Most of my friends don't live near me so I really want to make the effort to meet people locally.

Stay alive, feed yourself well, wear comfortable clothes, and don't give up on yourself just yet.
It'll get better. Until then, have a day."

Hiya tamobhuuta, thanks for the interest. I'd rather not say, though, if that's okay, because I'd like to maintain some anonymity on here, and I think that if I'm specific about what my research is on it might be enough for somebody who knows me to know that it's me posting. However, I will say that my PhD is in the field of Philosophy, so probably not considered real research by a lot of people!
