What about ticker factory things??
Can i have one and it just say like..
" X amount of days since the last time" without saying what iot was or something along those lines?
ooh! I see someone has a virtual bracelet in their sig already! COOL!
As for the tickers, I dont think the mods have really decided on that issue as yet, but I would tend to say no to tickers as a rule, because they are often associated with "pro" websites, and some tickers do still have "last cut/SI/OD" etc underneath the ticker, so its kinda just as bad as having a "last SI/OD" date in your sig.
But I think if someone could word their ticker in terms of "amount of time in recovery", then it should be okay ... but it will probably need to be something that is determined on a person by person basis.
lol Sarah, there are two identical threads, one stuck in GC and another not stuck in F&CQ
Confused the heck out of me too, I just spent 5 minutes looking though the one in F&CQ looking for my post before I realized it was here!
Well it breaks my heart to see you this way,
The beauty in life, where's it gone?
And somebody told me you were doing okay,
Somehow I guess they were wrong.

I'm assuming I need to change then...*wonders of to find something cool to put in its place*
And yeah like a lot off people I don't really see why the fact that I'm proud of not cutting for 8 months is negative...I can't be bothered to get banned over it.
I cant stand the "last cut, last Od, last burp, last blink" tags in peoples sigs and i think its a step in the right dierection. I quite like the idea of the bangles. They give a positive message. However i do strongly feel that something which affects many people such as this topic should have been brought to public attention.
I can see why its been done and i think its a good move to making RYL a more positive recovery based site, however i can totally understand why some would feel rather peived at the decision to do it without public consultation.
Matthew, there was a lot of consultation on this though. There was a HUGE thread in F&QC, which is where the mods got the idea for the bracelets in the first place. The mods aren't going to be able to make everyone happy, but I think this is a good middle ground.
*vaguely remembers someone with a "last wank" sig....who could THAT have been.....*

Well done mods. I had the same question as someone earlier and don't think it was quite answered though--could we put "xx time free" as long as we don't say from what, as it's the same concept as the bracelets?
also,

It was not done without public discussion. There have been threads around for weeks and there was also a poll about it. They're not just springing this on us unannounced.
D&B, I posted a link a few posts up that links to a post by Typsee explaining why they don't think that is a good idea. Basically the bracelets force people to use pre-designated amounts of time, and prevents people from putting "3 hours free" or "2 days free" which would be ok using that format.
A lot of the people who posted indicated that it wasn't so much the sigs that were the problem, it was the short amounts of time in a lot of them that were upsetting.

“Never lose faith in yourself,
and never lose hope;
remember, even when this world throws its worst and then turns its back,
there is still always hope.”
