Thanksgiving!!!

So for those of us in the US, Thanksgiving is coming up this week! For those not in the US (and also not Canada, you already had thanksgiving) neener neeener it's the best holiday ever!

What are you doing to prepare for it? What's your favorite dish to have?

What's your favorite part about thanksgiving? Or do you totally dislike it?

I used to really dislike thanksgiving, but it's actually become something I enjoy in the past few years.

I'm doing the cooking this year and boyfriend's family is coming and some of my family is coming. We've invited some other people and I think I have a good handle on things. I did the cooking last year too

I bad so many unhappy holidays that it means a lot to me to open my home to people and give them an opportunity to have a nice time.

I'm not making stuffing this year, which is my favorite dish, but I am making this butternut squash thing.

Sounds lovely Ama!

We have Thanksgiving in my house, I think it's a nice way to keep Christmas at bay for a little bit longer!!x

There are times to stay put, and what you want will come to you.
But there are times to go out into the world and find such a thing for yourself.

I bought 3 turkeys yesterday! We go to my in laws for thanksgiving and make chocolates. My fav thing that I make is smoked turkey. I also am a big fan of sweet potato pie ( it's like pumpkin pie, but richer)

Big bar night tonight. I don't go out but I did when I was a student. It was always a good week to see other student friends who left in August. Glad I don't have to travel but I've played with idea of going to Rockefeller Center to see tree lighting and hit the Met. I actually have a turkey farm a couple miles away.

It is tomorrow!

I invite everyone to my virtual thanksgiving where people are welcome and there is no yelling and if you don't want something that's ok. I've got vegetarian dishes and if I had vegan butter we'd have vegan dishes.

That sounds lovely, Ama.

Also, I'm curious, but why does Canadian Thanksgiving happen before US Thanksgiving?
