"let's feel good in our own skins" **positive**
Hey guys, i read this part of an interview with Kristin Davis (Charlotte in Sex And The City), and thought it was particulary relevant, and found it quite inspiring. I hope it helps some of you too.. :)
Do you believe you are what you eat?
I think you can go overboard. I have certinly had phases in my life when I've gone on ultra-healthy diets, but life is too short to be that worried about food. You should be able to go out for dinner with your friends and have a good time; and I love chocolate and I don't ever want to cut it out. At this point in I am into balance. I don't eat a lot of refined food, but at the same time I don't say, 'I am never going to eat ice cream.' That's just not fun- who wants to live like that? The other thing that's really important to remember- and I tell myself this- is that I'm over the phase of wanting to be super-thin. It doesn't really get you anything, and I think we forget that with the current vogue for the super-thin. It doesn't get you better jobs; it doesn't make you fall in love. It is an end in itself, I suppose, but once you're there, it's like, 'Now what?' It's not the secret to everlasting happiness.
And you can't compel your body to be a particular shape...
Exactly. I don't know what it would take for me to be the thinnest Hollywood actress- it's not how I'm built. We have to remember that not everybody is built the same, so let's feel good in our own skins.
